What should i learn for this type of website

Hi all,

I have an idea for a website but am a complete noob at anything webwise, I need a website where the user picks items which then populate parts of the website.

So for instance if someone wanted to buy a car but had no clue in regards to cars then this website will need to ask the user questions i.e "Will the car be used for mainly motorway driving?", Once the user has answered all of these questions then it will return the customers ideal vehicle.

I understand this is probably very advanced and may need some sort of databasing background (SQL, Access etc) but have no idea how to integrate these or even if it is possible.

Do you know any programming languages at all?

If not, the generic PHP/CSS/HTML/JavaScript stack is usually a good place to start.

Any good books you could recommend to start with these, Only bit of programming i have ever done is a little bit of Python but that was a long time ago.
