Hi All.
First post here, was wondering if you lot could help me out.

Right now, I'm rolling on this system.

Processor:
Duel Core @ 3.2GHz
Memory:
4GB RAM
Hard Drive:
500 GB
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS OverClocked

Anyway. I've decided to update my system.
I've ordered a new case, cpu cooler and some more ram.
However for the graphics card I have enough money left over to buy either:
9800 GTX
260 GTX
275 GTX

I think I would go for the 275 since it seems to be the better of the 3.
However, I've heard really good things from the 285 gtx.

My question is. Is it worth saving a little longer to get the 285 over the 275, or is the performance difference not that big?

Idealy, I would like the new graphics card that i purchase to be able to handle Crysis at 1650*1050 with 35fps or higher.

So, look forward to your posts, thanks :)

Yeah. I read some reviews now and it seems that for my resolution of gaming, the 275 is the better buy.

Right now though i have a 450watt psu, is that enough for a 275, or should I got to something like 600w?

Whatever you pick out of those 3 cards will be a massive boost in graphical horsepower, the difference will be like night and day.

But as said the GTX275 is the fastest out of all them, or alternatively you could get an ATi 4890 which is slightly cheaper than the 275 but roughly the same sort of speed.

please make sure its not some £25 PSU from ebay or something, you need to spend out on a proper brand. just saying in case that was your plan :D

Id get the GTX 275, should blow the 8600 out of the water. Plus you can always reuse the 8600 for physx if you have a spare slot

I have 3 choices of psu from my local store:

Coolermaster Silent Pro M600
Corsair TX750W
Super Flower SF600R-14A

I'm thinking of the Coolermaster since the Corsair is currently out of stock. Yet, if it is there for some reason then ill probably get the corsair.

seems the right choice & please laugh at your local store for stocking "Super Flower SF600R-14A"

the corsair is the best choice as they are very quiet and rock solid. Others to consider would be the Seasonic M12-D (expensive), or Enermax modu 82, all on the bsis of being rock solid but very quiet.

No need for 750W though, 50 ish will do fine, or 600W

I have a TX750 corsair and its great, it used to power the rug in my sig with SLI 8800GTX, and now with a GTX260 + 8800GTS 640 for physx :)
