Hi Overclockers.

Been upgrading my PC rig for a few months now.. Becoming more of a hobby than anything!!

Anyway I'm posting you the details of my rig as I would like to know what would be the next step upgrading-wise.

I use my rig for gaming and that's about it!!

No biased (intel only fans/amd only fans) views please.. :]

Motherboard: Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4
Graphics Cards: 2x Radeon HD XFX 5770 crossfired
RAM: 8gb Corsair 1666mhz
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 black edition
Cooling: H50 Corsair CPU Water Cooler
Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB 5400rpm
Case: Coolermaster HAF 932
PSU: 850w Coolermaster
DVD Drive: Just a standard rubbish RW+ 32x I think..
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

aaand that's about it! Comments and views appreciated! But like I said, keep it neutral!! If you prefer Intel or AMD or any certain brand, explain why in comparison.

Muchos Gracias my friends :]

either.

leave it as it is.

buy a SSD, especially if thats your main harddrive you have listed? 5400rpm? oh dear.

or sell both 5770 for a single powerful gpu.

5970 is this best radeon gfx card at the moment right? sell my two 5770s for one of those then?

the 6 series is being launched in two weeks time, plus the 5970 is another dual gpu setup, so any games that work poorly with crossfire will just be wasted.

you want the best single gpu card, currently the GTX480, but the ATI 5870 is cheaper and also a single gpu card.

right well in that case i think i'll stick out with the two 5770s until the 6 series comes out then! gives me a bit of time to save up for this oncoming price bomb lol. i know i could probably find this out on google, but for the sake of having an OCUK account, I'll ask; will the 6 series be released all together? Or one gfx card per few months or something? Should I invest in a 6 series gpu for when it comes out or wait a while until there are reviews??

I would definately look into getting an SSD drive, and having the 1tb as a seperate storage medium.

5400rpm upto SSD speed, WILL decrease loading times

If you want a noticeable performance/speed increase then make getting an SSD your #1 choice for upgrade.
I'd say that's the next upgrade path you want to go down. The Corsair Force series are very good.
