Hey guys this is my pc i was wondering if you guys could suggest what to upgrade i have some possible upgrades i was thinking about.

AMD Phenom II 965 3400 MHZ C3 125 TDP
Asus M3N-HD/HDMI Nforce 750a SLI
2GB Kingston Ram DDR 800 MHZ
XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB
250GB Maxtor HDD
LITEON DVD-RAM
ICUTE CASE

Ok
I was poossibly thinking of getting a EVGA Nvidia GTX 460 because i am a very big gamer BFBC2 and Dragons Age graphically intense
Also i was thinking of getting a Vertex 2E SSD drive but 60GB will not really serve my needs.

Cheers guys hope to hear you opinions

Regards Ryan

If you are a primarily a gamer and have a relatively limited budget, then I would not suggest going for an SSD.

Instead, I would suggest a nice Samsung F3, a £205 XFX 5850 and another 2GB of Kingston DDR2 800MHz RAM.

Alternatively, sell the 750a board and 2GB DDR2 and buy a shiny new AM3 board and 4GB DDR3 RAM. The performance boost will not be huge, but you will not be sinking money into old-tech DDR2 RAM, and with an AM3 board you will be more ready for further future upgrades (also, you will be able to get a board that supports AMD crossfire).

Out of interest, what is your current PSU?

Hey guys Thanks for the quick replies

My PSU is a Corsair HX 550

My idea was to get a gtx 460 because the 8800 is becoming a bit tired at its old age so driver glitches what not

With Ram i was thinking of maybe upgrading to 4GB but i do a fairly minimal system as to keep ram free but i will probably end up buying a new mobo because Nvidia is now not really supporting Nforce anymore.

Im only 16 and don't earn a great deal at current i have budgeted about 180 and that was specifically for gtx 460 1GB

Cheers in advance guys

GTX 460 1GB is the best upgrade you can get.

Then just save up another 180 for a motherboard + RAM combo.

I suggest the ASRock 890GX AM3 or Gigabyte UD3H AM3 board with a 4GB kit of OCZ Reaper Low latency memory.

so a 890gx chipset, crossfire capable motherboard with a Nvidia gpu? ok.

Yeah that was my thought

That's why I bought a 750a board because of the fact I could do Sli on an AMD platform, but I really should have invested in the 980a board which does ddr3 but at the time of buying I only had a 64x2 which doesn't support ddr3.

So do you suggest staying with a cheaper higher preformance nvidia card (gtx 460 1024) or go for more expensive ati which I can't really afford then change out the board when the time comes?

Let me know
