My sister booked a room at a local tiger tiger for her birthday, which cost her £250. At the time she booked it the manager said it was a refundable deposit, and would be returned if the bar reached a certain amount of money. She also said that this entitled everyone on the guest list to free entry.

On tuesday she got a call from the club checking the booking and running over the details, again the woman said it was refundable deposit with free entry.

Fast forward to tonight when we all turned up, we got our hands stamped and then walked in to be asked for £5 each. We said that we weren't supposed to be paying because we'd already paid for the room. This resulted in an argument with the manager who said we were trying to rob them and told us that everything these two different women said to us was a lie, and they couldn't confirm it because (conveniently) neither worked there any more. After a lot of wrangling they agreed to refund the £250 (which they said wasn't refundable and was just a payment) and let us in (although we had to pay).

We went up to our room to be greeted by the most ridiculous house music, which the DJ said he couldn't change because he was only allowed to play house, and it transpired that even had the money not been refunded only house music was allowed in that room. Then about 40 minutes later a different manager came in and opened the room up to everybody (he had no idea we had had a refund, as far as he was concerned we'd paid) because they said that on thursdays the whole club was rented out to a different company and there should have been no private reservations on that day.

I can obviously understand that if they are expecting a huge number of people in they don't want to rope off an area of the club as it will reduce their takings (whereas on most other nights they are half empty so it would be in their interest), but none of that is our fault and they shouldn't have allowed us to book that night. It has completely ruined my sisters 18th birthday, are we right in expecting an apology?

Well I came back early because I had no intention of staying out - my girlfriend has work tomorrow so I needed to take her home.

That sounds like a bit of a bummer tbh. Not cool..

I don't know where you are - but there's a Tiger Tiger (or Baby Tiger?) here in Liverpool too so it sounds like a chain rather than one odd club..

Well my sister came home at 12:29 completely off her face and said she was brought home by people she didn't know who had told her she had to leave.

She had also left her purse and phone at the club, although one of her friends had the sense to pick it up and will look after it until tomorrow.
