What single player games to get?

If you were going to get Oblivion you'd need to dl 100s of mb worth of mods so thats probably out of what the OP wants, unless he's willing to use the smaller mods and not bother with the big overhauls or graphics mods.

*checks my mods folder* 7.87 GB!? thats higher than i thought!
 
I'm ok downloading stuff at the start, I'd just like to avoid Steam if possible, because if it tries to update itself then I'm really screwed as I'm pretty sure Steam is blocked on the new connection, which would kill any game I had installed on steam.

hitman blood money
tomb raider anniversary + underworld
titan quest + immortal throne
torchlight (imminent cd release)

Just set it to offline mode.
 
mass effect play this before you play ME2

fallout (all of them) :p why not can get all of them for like £30 now days anyways

tomb raider is another good one or two ;p( the latest two)

what about bioshock 1 and 2

For my new PC the 1st 3 games I'm buying are Fallout 3 GOTYE, Mass effect 1 & Dragon Age.

Also getting Mines of Moria for LOTRO, thats an expansion so that doesn't count as a full game :p
