What size of braiding for fan cables?

Curious as to what diameter braiding would be required to braided fans?

Would 2.5mm do the job, or 4mm?

Depends if you want to braid the individual wires or all three together in a bundle. I used 4mm for mine last year for individual braiding but they were a little loose. Fan cables are usually less than 2mm thick (maybe as low as 1.5mm) so 2.5mm might work really well.

By the way I am no expert on this.

Planning on doing them all together. Any recommendation on size?

Pretty sure 2.5mm might be slightly too tight for 3 wires of a fan cable, 4mm will deffo fit (it's what I used on a couple of fans I braided myself).

Individual Wires - 3mm or 4mm
SATA Power Cable - 6mm or 3/4mm for single wires
SATA Data Cable - 6mm (Make sure it's expandable to 12mm or if you have 10mm you can try but it might be a tight fit.)
24 Pin MB ATX Connector -12 mm or 3/4mm for single wires
6 Pin PCI Express Cable - 6mm or 3/4mm for single wires
8 Pin PCI Express Cable - 6mm or 3/4mm for single wires
4 Pin For CPU - 6mm or 3mm/4mm for single wires

4 Pin Molex Power Cables - 8mm or 3/4mm for single wires
3 Pin Molex / Fan Power Cables - 5mm/4mm/3mm
