Hey guys, just got back from safari and was planning to get some images blown up to poster size. I was thinking 20" x 30" or 16" x 24". And it just so happens I have some vouchers for a high street camera shop (not sure if I can say who as they are probably a competitor). So Im playing about on their website and I upload a photo to see if it will fit in those demensions and how much cropping etc. Anyway, it says the resolution is too low and the image quality will be degraded. They were taken on my 400D at the highest res (3888 x 2592). I was quite surprised to be given that message, does anyone know what kind of size is reasonable to expect or is this just a message that doesnt mean anything and it will all be fine?

Can I ask how you worked that out or is it just something you know?

One is of a sunset where the ISO has turned itself down and the image is a little blurry but I think it'll be ok.

Simple mate, Open in Adobe photoshop, go to image size then change the pixel to inch or centimetre etc. :D Sounds too easy to be true but it has worked for me many times. (Photographer)

Im a little annoyed I didnt think of that myself, seems so obvious.

SDK, the plan is to hang them in the living room as its a bit bare so I dont think anyone will go in close enough for a pixel by pixel view!

Cheers guys.

Well too late now, they are being processed! Will report back on Tuesday when I go to collect them. I did purposely choose the sharpest images for fear of wasting my money!
