What size PSU for this spec ?

My PSU has just given up the ghost, I was using an 850W so need to replace it.

PC spec

CPU i5 3570k ivybridge
GPU Sapphire 7970 Vapor X 3GB
motherboard Z77X UD5H
Soundcard Asus Xonar D2X
Memory 8Gb Corsair 1600mhz low profile.
Lamptron FC5 V2 fan controller
2 x optical drives, one is a bluray writer
Phanteks push pull cooler
Samsung 830 series 256gb SSD

Ive been looking at getting a seasonic, im open to suggestions on models and other brands except corsair.

The good news is that you won't need an 850W with that setup, any good make 500W will be fine running that (you should be fine with a 400W actually, but personally I wouldn't risk it). If you're ever planning to run 2 GPUs then I'd be looking at a good 750W-850W, but if you know you'll only ever run 1 card then stick with a quality 500W-650W and save some money.

I'm a big fan of XFX power supplies, which are made by Seasonic, so would be looking at the 650W Core:

Thanks for the reply Stu, yeh that will be great if I don't need a 850w PSU. Those XFX Psu's do look to be good value with the internals being Seasonic. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't need a 2nd GPU at any point as I'm not a gamer, I do a lot if video editing and streaming so the single 7970 is fine.

The only thing tho is I'd want a fully modular psu, do XFX do a fully modular version ?

i am looking for a cheap as chips psu to power this system that's is going to be given to my sister soon

q6600 @ 2.4
4gb ram
2x 1tb sata
dvd rw
ati 4870

no over clocking to be done mainly going to be a internet browsing box/htpc
