A few upgrades to one of my machines means I've got some bits lying about and will build into a light gaming rig. Just not sure what size rad to get really and wondering if anyone has similar setups and what temps etc they are getting.

I'll be wanting to cool both the CPU and GPU so wondering what people would suggest for an i5 2500(non K model) and a GTX480 hydro.
I know the GPU puts out quite a bit but with the CPU being a non overclockable version I'm not sure what that's going to be putting out.

I've got a Fractal Arc Mini that will house it and don't mind if I have to hack it up slightly to get a 360 Rad in the top but if I don't need to then I'd prefer it that way

Thanks for that, I'll see whats about as I do have a 240 but its an old swiftech thing with 1/2" or some strange BSP fitting for the barbs and its blue so I'll see what I can get my hands on cheap.

Is the Swiftech MCP350 that I have enough for this? I reckon so but never run one with a Apogee HD CPU Block and EVGA Hydro GTX480

yeah should be okay for just two components and a rad.

higher flow rate does help temps but with a big enough rad you will be fine.

If you already have a 240 put it in an see what temps you are getting. If you are not satisfied with the temps, buy a cheap 360 rad, drain the loop, wack it straight in and refill with the same fluid :)

I doubt I'll fit the Swiftech rad as the fittings are a ballache, it was setup to have outlets pointing up in an old system and that's just not compatible with the new setup. Like I said its a very old swiftech rad...to the point where it was used before pretty build it all connectors came about. Used old 1/2" tubing with a custom CPU block.

I think I used this on my old Skt478 P4 so its pretty old.
