Hi all.
I have an NL36 that is mainly used for backup and media storage. The storage drives are a pair of non-RAIDed 1TB Samsung Spinpoints. They're old and need replacing.
I do not currently use all the space, but I'd say it's around 80% full.
I will be buying WD Reds. I intend to buy 2 and have a mirrored array. I could get away with buying a pair of 2TB drives. This wouldn't gain me any more storage space though. A 3TB drive would be better BUT I recall when they came out that they seemed to have a high (compared to the 2TB) failure rate. Was this a problem, is it still a problem?
The next size up would be the 4TB, plenty of space for my needs but pushing the price a bit higher than I'd like to spend.
Any advice?
