...would fit on this motherboard?

ASUS P5kPL-AM IN/GB?

CPUz showing "Chipset P35/G33/G31" <- not sure if that's relevant

I've currently got a E3300 dual core but I'm looking to upgrade the CPU a bit

It's an old pc that I'm sprucing up to give to my local youth club. I'm thinking if I can find a quadcore cpu to slot into it, then it'll do for basic browsing for the kids.

U can get a e8400 for a fiver off the bay if u want it dead cheap for a upgrade but if u want better u can get a q6600 or somit for £25 to £30 ish.

I built a system recently from a Q6600 (@3GHz) plus some Ballistix RAM (4 x 1GB) bought off Ebay. More of an experiment as a mate gave me his old Asus motherboard with the CPU on it. I've raided a couple of HDDs and stuck my trusty GTX 670 in it and it plays 1080p games really well still!

No need for a quad for basic browsing but maybe they could use the CPU power for more project related stuff rather then just browsing/gaming.

I'm thinking of trying to get a GPU for minecraft as it's a game loads of the kids play. A quad cpu will be a better option for anything else too.

Any low end GPU will do. Minecraft is not that very well multithreaded threaded but you can use Optifine to make the game run better.
