Why might I be interested in IE8? Well I just like new stuff.

That and I'd like to see what MS have done with IE8 and how it competes with Opera 9.2x/9.5x and in the future 10.x as well as FF 2/3.

gotta say I'm with Huddy on this one, i only look forward to new games coming out, or fixes to things that are currently annoying me

I slipstreamed XP SP3 RC2 into an ISO last week and it makes the install experiance so much quicker, only 1 update after setup. I know we will be back to square one in about 6 months but I'll probably have gone to Vista by then. I was waiting for some Vista WDM drivers for my 7800GT's VIVO but I've given up all hope on that and stuck the card in an XP machine.

Well I didn't notice anything different in SP3 RC2 apart from the integrated updates, they didn't add any new features as far as I was aware. In terms of speed I can't tell any difference, although even with SP2 XP is is mighty quick, it's on a 2Ghz MacBook with 2GB RAM anyway so I wouldn't expect any different.

Installed the latest sp3 rc last night.

Very good with old hardware but still not effecient enough on my ailing laptop. Resident memory usage was 100meg which did suprise me. IE loaded in a flash but who uses that junk these days anyway.

Overall no where near as fast as running linux/fluxbox.
