what software for web design, using mac osx?

im pretty good with html etc... but want to start doing more in depth design, earn some extra cash etc!

For coding html, css, php, js etc coda is one editor that I hear a lot of people using on mac, but it's not free. A free alternative would be aptana studio, if your familar with eclipse you will like this.

For design I assume you have Photoshop?

NOTEPAD or whatever the maco version is, just do it in bash, some vi?

I use Dreamweaver in codeview (I find the snippets library most useful once you fill it with stuff you commonly use). I only switched over with CS4 though. Before that, I used Notepad2 and before that I used Notepad++.

Design: Photoshop, xScope, Layers, Balsamiq Mockups
Development: Coda, Changes, GitX, SQLEditor

I used to use skEdit but seeing as there's been no release in quite a while I've moved over to Coda which seems to be improving a bit faster.

What are the benefits of Coda over skEdit or is it just personal preference? I found skEdit much easier to use than Coda and editing remote files/syncing local/remote to be a big benefit.

I used skEdit since launch so it was a tough move but I think that Sean has been a bit side tracked by working at Apple and updates have slowed to a drip. Coda is taking a while to get used to but I don't use either for remote file syncing (I use Transmit) and neither has built-in support for git.
