What do companies like Sky Sports use for their flash onscreen graphics for animated logos and programme intros?

Is it in-house software or do they use software that anyone can get hold of?

No idea about Sky specifically but After Effects is the general industry standard. Probably have some others thrown on top for particle effects etc via things like Cinema 4D and Blender.

In any case no, not proprietary beyond templates, they'll have likely been created by a motion graphics agency.

If you want to have a try at something similar yourself then Blender is an excellent tool. It's just about up there with the commercial versions but is free and open source.
