Currently both CoreTemp and HW Monitor read the exact same on all cores (32/33 under load) which seems very low and also all the cores read the exact same tempreature which isnt normal.

Thanks

From the CoreTemp FAQ:

AMD processors based on the Phenom and Phenom II (Athlon II, Sempron II, Turion II, etc.) only have a single thermal sensor. Thus Core Temp will only display a single CPU temperature reading. There is no way of getting a per-core reading on these processors.

Starting with the Phenoms, AMD's digital sensor no longer reports an absolute temperature value anymore, but a reading with a certain offset, which is unknown. It is estimated that this offset is between 10 - 15c.

Ensure you have the latest version of CoreTemp and remember that any temperature it does report is only a guesstimate.

Both CoreTemp and HW monitor show the same tempreatures the same, 15 degrees at idle. Is there anyway to accurately measure the tempreature?

It gets debated a lot, but I'm pretty sure with the AMD Phenom IIs (the X6's at least) you don't read core temps you read CPU temp.
HWMonitor will display this, but it varies from motherboard to motherboard as to what it calls it. On my Gigabyte boards it was TMPIN1, but it may even vary by model.

This ^^.

No idea, I'm not an AMD user.

But from the CoreTemp FAQ it's impossible to get an accurate temperature.

It looks like you need to add 10-15 degrees to whatever CoreTemp shows as a best estimation.

You can set the offset temperature in CoreTemp to 10-15 degrees and it will automatically add it for you.

You can't really do that, as Core Temp kind of began to equalize out to give a normalish temperature.
And each CPU is different, some are only off a few C.

That is at idle

Up untill I saw this post I beleived CPU Socket temp was the one to watch.

Very good post that, I recommend a thorough read of it plus the links within it.

I don't think i've ever seen my core temps get as high as 45ºC so it's a bit hard to tell if there's any truth in that. At the same time it does mean that the core temps are useless to me if they only become accurate around a temp they don't get to.

It's probably also worth noting that both my Asus and Gigabyte motherboard base the CPU PWM fan control off the CPU Temp rather than the core temps.
