What song is this...

I heard it on holiday. It is downbeat, slow and quite simple with a female singer. The first verse or two mention waking up in the morning and burning a coffee. The chorus is just the singer saying "do do do-do do do-do-do..." in a similar tune to the chorus of Amy Macdonald- this is the life (57 seconds in).

The version I heard also had a male version singing some choruses so I think it was a remix. It was a fairly modern song; I think it is 2010 onwards but my girlfriend thinks it sounds more like early 2000s (Dido kind of time and style)

I was about to say Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner! Not sure which is the original.

Suzanne Vega wrote the song in 1982 and it was released on her 1987 album Solitude Standing. The best known version is probably the remix by DNA featuring Suzanne's vocal.
