What sort of temps is winter bringing you?

Lol at my temps. Good thing about winter is how pc temps are so cool. My ambient room temp is currently 10.7c, I've just come back into the house. But it won't get an awful lot warmer as I have various gas fires but not central heating. I think it's fair to say that my place is a bit on the cold side :D What sort of temps you guys getting at this time of year?

Nice! I use a chiller, but it's only (so far! I need to get some insulating done...) set to 12C, so that's roughly where my idle temps lie. I fold 24/7 though, so my temps tend to hover around the high 40s and low 50s (that's running a 2700K at 5 GHz).

My ambient is always at 22C (expcet in the summer when it's too warm, I don't have AC yet!) so my settings will be good year round even when I put the chiller on my next build and replace it with a decent rad or 2 on this system.

I'm phase cooled and the lower ambient temps make a bit of difference, Not as much difference to people on air or water but they do help.

Normally I idle at -40c and load at -20 to -23

When I first saw your temps, I thought, he's made a mistake, should be -30c idle and -47c load. Then my brain kicked in and I realised with a minus in front it works the opposite way, lol.

Currently idling at around 20-24c on all cores, stress temps in the low 60's gaming temps in the high 40's.

Usually coldest after I've gotten home from work and the heatings been off all day. Be interesting to see what the temps are if it hits -16c again this winter :D

What`s phase-cooling?

And..

A: Why does that thing look like under a car bonnet?
B: What`s the point?

Because I can run higher over clocks and higher voltages safely then someone with just plain water cooling.

Some people have chips that can over clock higher then average but they're forced to run let at lower settings due to thermal limitations and dangerous temps.

I have no thermal limitations..

It DOES look awesome. Would love a steampunk-style desk with dual-xeon under water!

Just looks slightly OTT to the casual observer - but i completely understand the reasoning behind it.

I`m thinking of running a metal pipe from outside my house ( freezing ) into my computer case

Quick video I made :)

-48.3c is the Evap temp and -41.2c is the temp of a sensor I mounted to the 2500K's IHS :)

The noise is amplified by my phones mic...

Is that an old Vapochill LS I see? Up until last week I was using one on an e8400, had it for years. I didn't think you could get the cpu mounts for anything above socket 775 these days.

Mine will be on Fleabay shortly including Lian-Li mounted on top.
