What sort spec laptop do I need to play 3D games?

Such as Call of Duty 4? I'm happy to turn off AA/AF etc and run at 1280x800.

Will an Nvidia 8400 and Core2Duo, 2GB be enough?

At least an 8600M GT for decent frame rates. The 8400 might be a tad slow and lacks the raw power.

I would say look for at least a AMD HD2600 or Nvidia 8600 based cards for gaming. I've got the HD2600 in mine and it can't really handle crysis even with min graphics it struggles... I'm not sure how call of duty compares however!

I am thinking of getting a Vostro 1400 with a 8400 GS in it. Based on your opinion above, do you think to play a few decent games, its either an 8600GT or something in this range or forget gaming (unless I want to have a poor gaming experience?).
