I am after a new head unit which i can use with my ipod, and 2 new speakers for the front, i am looking on caraudiocenter, and have seen

and i need some 13cm speakers that will fit in the front alright

maybe them ?

let me know what you guys think / recommend, i am liking the alpine stuff atm and the glidetouch thing after seeing it in a friends car, i can spend about 250 quid ish on the headunit including the ipod adaptor.

Thanks a lot

Nearly £270 on HU and adaptor but only £25 on speakers?

No point buying a decent HU and running it off cheapo speakers imo. Spend less on the the HU and put it towards speakers, glidetouch is crap anway. Or ditch the adaptor, just run it from a line-in and spend more on speakers.

hmm did not know you could do that with that with the hu, the line in that is, only trouble with that i guess is that you would have to have something seperate to charge the ipod, which likes to go flat lol, what speakers do you recommend then if not then to make the most of the head unit?

The only thing that concerns me with some of the better speakers, is the depth of them, althought i have pretty much rebuilt the front end of the car recently i dont want to have to start modding the door if i can avoid it.

I'm sure they do ciggy lighter chargers for the ipod, just chop the end off and wire it into the rear of the ciggy lighter and feed the wire through a discreet place, same with the line-in cable. You could feed them to the bottom of one of your cubby holes in your dash so you wouldn't even see them.

Obviously not such an elegent solution and you can't control the ipod from the HU, but would cost you £10 tops and not £70 which is shocking imo.

Also you should be able to get some clio speaker spaces which should give you more room for the speaker baskets.

yea the ipod adaptor is really expensive i have to admit for what you get, i have seen it as well in my mates dash its tiny, but having said that its quite an elegant solution as you say, and i cant see me buying a lot of them, this hu will no dought end up in my next car as well as will the adaptor so i dont mind paying for it this time really.
