What Soundbar

I have been given some cash and made the mistake of telling the wife. The only thing she'll let me spend it on (other than her) is a decent sound-bar for our Panasonic 47" TV, as she's as annoyed with the rubbish sound on it as I am.
Now we would like something decent and started looking at the Sono's playbar and liked the idea of wireless surround but it would cost a bomb by the time I got the other bits (even though I could do it a bit at a time) and then came across the YSP-2500 and liked that it seems to do a decent job of fake surround sound but it's pretty pricey, both of these are affordable at a stretch but are they worth all that extra cash compared to say the YSP-1400 which seems pretty good in itself, I could get that and a sub and still have cash left over but if the 2500 is worth the extra cash I might go for it. Of course if anyone's got a better suggestion I'm all ears (can't do a surround sound system though as she'll never agree to all the cables etc).

Many Thanks

I can't believe people live like this. Would you act like that if she was given some cash?

Nope, never really comment on what she spends but I think she hate's it when I spend it on computer equipment etc as she thinks it's a waste of cash but she really wants better sound on the TV too.
I keep leaning towards saving some cash and getting the YSP-1400 but then things keep dragging me back to looking at the YSP-2500 and I don't want to end up feeling like I should have splashed out 2 months down the line.

Ah cool, figured the number ment it was better but also knew it was an older model and lacks certain features (mainly things I can live without). So was just checking, going over to RS to take a look. Thanks for mentioning this to me :)

Been in and grabbed the YSP4300 at RS in plymouth, it was the last one and a display model but is in perfect condition. Thanks Psycho Sonny for pointing out the 4300 to me :)
Looking forward to getting home and setting it up :)

Didn't even think about the stand size lol. It was a bit too big but not too tall luckly so I'm gonna extend the stand. Hoping to set it up later, can't wait to hear it.

Here it is now, as you can see I've got to extend the TV stand to make it fit (ordered some cheap storage boxes that are the same height as the stand to sort this)
