Need a suggestion or 2, I have a friend who will be transferring/converting cassette tapes to digital files, recorded as .wav and then after denoising etc, saving as MP3. They will not be using an actual cassette player connected via line-in, but will be fitting and using This (I don't think this is a competitor's link, but if so please say so and I will gladly remove it) to do the task. This setup will make it much easier to do, as they have literally 100s of cassettes to do.
At the moment the system (motherboard - Asus P5LD2 SE) only has onboard sound, so I would think a separate soundcard would make the quality of the recordings better, so what soundcard do you recommend they should get for this task, price is not really too important, as long as it is not overly expensive....
Would something from EMU, M-AUDIO or Creative be appropriate?
Thanks
