What Spec Laptop for Graphic Design, Photo and Video Editing

What laptop spec would you look for if you were going to do a lot of graphic design, photo and video editing?

Thanks

We offer Workstations with Nvidia Quadro Graphics. Quadro is the ideal choice for video editing and graphic design, CAD and other software packages. Where Quadro differs from say GT or GTX is that the drivers are optimised for these software packages and ultimately a more efficient process.

Spec wise it's upto you but one to look for is our WS60. Built on the GS60 Chassis so it's really thin and light. It features K2100M Quadro Graphics as well as Intel Thunderbolt 2.0 technology.

Do these laptops run quite quietly, as I'm also interested in music production.

In most cases no. Workstation laptops are made for compiling, rendering and all the rest of it. In a small chassis. So they need lots of air flowing through them and the aggressiveness with which the fan controller kicks in can be quite abrupt and depending on what you're doing and how long it takes, can go on spinning fans at high RPM for quite a while.

With Linux, you can make your own fan controller profiles and such to lessen this. But I have no idea of any software that lets you manually control fans on Windows like say, smc Fan Control on OS X. I think there's SpeedFan, but your motherboard has to be supported for manual adjustment to work.
