What speed ram to buy

I need to buy 4 GIG worth of DDR3 ram for my new ASUS Crosshair Formula IV mobo with a 1090T cpu

Not sure which ram speed to buy which will result in a stable system. I was thinking of 1600Mhz speed, but it dosent say anywhere on the box if i can use it. Non OC.

i want either 4gig or 6 gig worth of ram but im not sure what the best combos are for this MOBO, i cant really spend more than 105 pound on ram.

With the asus crosshair IV your limited to dual channel kits, triple channel ram only works on the intel X58 platform. Therefore you can have 4gb or 8gb of ram.

The board wil support upto 2000 mhz ram, but 1600mhz would be more than adequate. Heres the selection of dual channel 1600mhz ram that ocuk stocks.

can you tell me if the heat spreaders on those corsair dominators will be blocked by my tuniq tower 120 cpu cooler, cause its big

I couldnt honestly say, as ive never used a tuniq tower myself, or a recent AMD rig for that matter im afraid.

Check the QVI list on the manufacturers website to see what RAM models have been tested and then just choose one without a massive heatspeader.

I use this motherboard with Corsair Dominator GT 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMG4GX3M2A1600C7). The board bios will use D.O.C.P and you can just choose the XMP profile, well it will show profile # 1 which auto sets the ram 1600MHz 7.7.7.20.41.2T 1.65V which corsair tested. I use a corsair H50-1. You will probably struggle with your cooler because of the high ram heatsinks?.
