Building a gaming PC and I'd like some advice please. I've picked out everything else just unsure on SSD and heatsink

Do not understand enough about the different solid state drives. Whats best size speed make etc?

Gaming using steam, everything from skyrim to battlefield 4 watchdogs assassins creed etc.

I've seen this one suggested
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99

But whats the difference from say this one:-
Crucial M500 240GB SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - (CT240M500SSD1) £87.96

or another recommended one this one:-
Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £114.98

Does the speeds - write read etc vary much between them?

PLUS - some people recommend 240GB I've read others saying 120GB is sufficient? I'd have thought I would want the operating system and steam/games on the SSD too maximise speed - or do you just need the operating system on it?

ALSO - what CPU cooler does everyone suggest???

I'm a novice overclocker but want to try.
I saw an overclocked build on this site using a Aphenfohn Brocken
One site recommended the Aphenfohn mount doom (but warns very large)
or Alphenfohn matterhorn -----weird all the very few people mentioning CPU air coolers recommended the Aphenfohn

The MX100 SSD is newer than the M500 and if you look has higher speeds and IOPS, so get that one, being cheaper is also a bonus.

As for coolers, Alpenfohn are indeed good, but what case and RAM do you have etc? need to check it all fits.

Coolermaster EVO 212 and Samsung EVO if you have the budget otherwise mx100 is good.

I would get 240 at least since I'm already struggling with 120 same as you steam/battlenet/origin games

The samsung Evo is fantastic i am currently running the 256gb version and have no problems with it windows loads vithing 10 seconds and able to use all apps instant

as for Heatsink if you want to go for air cooled i would choose Prolimatech Black Megahalems CPU Cooler

for AIO watercooler Corsair Hydro H110

Pretty sure none of that fits.

So you want something red or black then.

Corsair also say maximum CPU cooler height is 157mm so these should all fit and these water coolers will also fit,

1 x Corsair Hydro H60 V2 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £59.99

Thank you everyone for the help... was torn between the air cooler and this one... but finally opted for this as it should be quieter and cooler.

Also grabbing the 256GB Crucial MX100 SSD
