Found this interaction in Tesco equally stupid as funny.

Lady: *picks up 2x 250g butter blocks*
Me: "Get the 500g block, it's cheaper"
Lady: "It's too big. The smaller ones fit nicely in my butter dish."
Me: *Blank stare*
Lady: *Walks away*

It's a block of butter. You cut off what you want to keep in a butter dish...
