Just found some money in my Paypal account so I thought I'd waste it on some new number plates. Was just wondering what other had. 3D fonts, plain fonts, Euro badges, plain, borders etc?

3d font with Euro border

Mine are the standard font but with the Euro border.

When did that Euro logo become standard on plates anyway? Mine's a 52 and it has them but I'm fairly sure I've seen a lot of newer reg plates without.

I think it's an optional requirement - I don't have it on my 05 car (nor would I want it!)

Mine are standard font with no border and no Euro logo

Optional.

I bought new plates a year or so ago and went without it as I prefered the look.

Pressed alloy plates on the Golf and the 205, early 90's plastic Bristol dealer plates on the Manta.

Just have standard mid90's dealer type on mine, but I want to get a set of the 2nd ones you posted, as if I'm right that means I don't need a stupid GB sticker when going abroad? Plus it should freshen the car up a bit.

Ideally a flat font and nothing else at all (not strictly legal but given the age of my cars I can claim that the plates pre-date the laws requiring a postcode and stuff on them). Current cars have just got whatever was on them when I got the cars though. I really should get around to getting some plain ones in the old standard font made up when I can be bothered.

It's just a plate...so plain it is, looks best too :p

Its one of the first things people look at when they look at your car though so it helps to get them looking the best they can.

I may or may not be trying to justify the £59 on plates and plate related bits that I've spent in the last few weeks ;)

EDIT- Forgot to say I'd avoid any fancy fonts, effects or badges. Just go plain font with the GB band IMO. With Plastic plates I think its worth going for dealer plates.

True, true, but unless they're walking up to it and looking at it closeup 99% of people won't be able to tell your plates are pressed, matte or gloss or whatever I bet!

Need side by side pics of normal vs pressed vs other styles TBH to really see!

^^Looks awesome dude!

My cars have always been the whatever the dealer put on them but my brothers just got some square jap-style ones on his civic.
