hey guys,

Previously i've always been able to get USN products at a much reduced price through my cousin unfortunately that avenue has now closed to me and my whey is beginning to run a little low.

so i need to know, what are the best brands? if there's little difference in quality just give me best tasting? and where can i get it at the best price?

Also i wouldn't mind getting a few other things as well, i already have omega 3 and a good multi vit but i might get some creatine and also a cutting stack... any recommendations at all?

thanks in advance for any advice.

www.myprotein.co.uk is definately the best place to go to and a popular favourite on these forums. This is the whey protein i use: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-powders/protein-powders/impact-whey-protein/ and it is extremely good. Tastes great even without flavouring, has an extremely good protein content per 100g and is very mixable even in water.

edit - Also have a search for myprotein and you'll find loads of threads too :)

use this code when your order : MP9237 and you'll get 5% off :)

Dan - what supplements do you feel you need, that you are not already getting from your diet? or are you looking at pre&post workout supplements only?

Actually im looking for protein supplements just like you mention, mainly for POST workout, and possibly for some pre workout too. Don't want to steal this thread, but is the stuff recommended above ok to use for this ?

first off cheers for the link brocksta, i'll be getting my order in tomorrow. morba, to be honest my diet is okish... no junk, plenty of green veg, fruit, chicken, salmon, steak, brown rice occasional cheat days where i have a meal that's complete rubbish but no huge deficiency. i do however train during a break so i like a quick whey boost post workout that's what i'm after the protein for, i take omega 3 and multi vits just to make sure i'm getting nutrients in. I was just thinking of looking at a stack in order to aid me in cutting.

Yes it's great for that ;)

If you're only going to order 1kg then I'd recommend Mypro whey over the Impact. It contains more BCAA's, including Leucine and a few other goodies. It's the same price so get that.

Only catch is they don't do it as cheap in bulk as the Impact Whey (which is what I use) this can be had for just £32 but you need to bulk buy 5kg.

So if buying bulk get Impact, if buying less than 5kg get Mypro.

If you're going to get anything like that then get some Green Tea Extract. It can help with fat loss and it's also extremely good for you and also gives a good mental boost thanks mainly to the caffeine.

100g worth will last you about 6 months, so it's pretty cheap aswell.

Soy Lecithin is the other one that I use. Though you need to take quite a lot at 20g-30g+ per day. Great stuff! Though for some reason MP aren't very cheap with this (and they've just knocked 50% off aswell, they originally priced it @ £3.99 per 100g!!) I can get it cheaper from my local health food store who sell 500g tins for £6

Cheers, but on the site they are both the same price as bulk buy : 5kg @ 8.39 per kg = £41.95

Can it be had cheaper ?

Yes, in a few ways.

10lb [tubbed] @ £33.95 here: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-supplies/unflavoured-whey/10lb-impact-whey-protein-(unflavoured)/
10lb [bag] @ £29.95 here: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-supplies/unflavoured-whey/5lb-impact-whey-protein-(unflavoured)/

or type www.bulkpowders.co.uk into the pricematcher and get 5kg [tubbed] @ £31.95

or type www.sports-nutrition.net into the pricematcher and get 10lb [tubbed] @ £31.99 inc P&P

No point in starting another thread on Supplements while this is open, so sorry if this is a threqad highjack! :)

I am currently trying to cut and I do believe it's working :D I am just about to order some more Whey as I'm running out so that part is sorted. Now while I am ordering, I may as well get a few other things! Namely some green tea as I have read many good things about this. Now I was thinking of getting this one:

http://www.myprotein.co.uk/capsules...d-well-being/green-tea-extract-x-120-tablets/

as the other one (Green Tea Extract) is out of stock, is this the same/equivalent?

Also thinking of getting some Omega Softgels, now which do I need? Omega 3/6/9, only Omega 3? If someone could link me to some that would be ace :D

TIA

It's in stock now. Though some don't like the taste as it's quite bitter, so if you're one of those fussy people then caps might be better. The powder is much cheaper though. The caps say they are 1000mg but only actually contain 200mg of real Green Tea Extract each and will only last you half as long.

As DanH84 said, you only need Omega-3. NEVER supplement with Omega-6, this is the one that causes all the problems. Not because it's directly bad for you because it's not but because our diets are so rich in it already, same with Omega-9.

I use 500mg at a time in warm water and neck it. I have one in the morning and one pre-workout.
