What system spec do you need to run games on a 24" TFT?

As the title really, what sort of system specs, ie. CPU/GFX card do you need to run games (especially FPS games) at a decent frame rate on a 24" TFT... In the process of a new system build, and was wondering if an 8800GTS would cut the mustard at the high resolutions of a 24" TFT...

Mostly play FPS games, so frame rates are important, building a new system with an 8800GTS and a Q9450 when released next month...
