As title really, if you were going to buy a camera as a 'take it everywhere' cam, what would you get ? I.E. its got to be as small as possible, but still be pretty good, after a quick look around Fuji's Z3 looks quite slim and compact while having a 5.1mp sensor and 1600ISO. F30/31 also looks good with its 3200ISO, but then its far to chunky for the purposes of this thread. Didn't canon do a slim compact cam as well ?

All input welcome :)

Not ISO 3200 but Canon G7 is pretty much the best compact you can get.

There's ISO 3200 on the G7, noise isn't as awful as I expected actually! But a bit too big if even the Fujis are too big in this case...

I would recommend the F30/31, it's a great little camera and seems fits in my jean pocket nicely. I cant see how its seen as "chunky".

OT: Do you visit lowandwide forum by chance? I'm sure I've seen a signature with something similar before!

Looks good, however to big, had a look at the Fuji F30 yesterday, nice size, good cam, however -abit- too thick, sticks out my pocket a lot, wanna go for as slim as poss with good low light ability

Uktopgun, saw the quote somewhere on the net (cant remember where) thought it was funny so put it in my sig :D

i have the f31, its not chunky at all. it has the same ccd as the s9600, and is very good at low light - it does iso 3200, which isnt much use - but the higher iso settings are quite useuable on it.

it fits easily in my jeans front pocket, and the lens retracts when its off - so its not chuinky at all.

Holy thread revival batman!!!

Ok iv been looking a lot MORE for a super slim take out in your jeans pocket camera for nights out and take everywhere stuff......

Yes iv looked at the F31 but its really REALLY chunky (for putting in your pocket, it sticks out well bad and is annoying! it may not be chunky to you, but it is to me), however it has awesome battery life, great ISO/image quality and is awesome for a compact

Next iv looked at is the Z5fd, which is apparently good but has an aweful battery life (~140 shots)

I saw a Sony T7 in jessops the other day, really slim cam, shape is what im looking for, however its ruddy aweful camera from the reviews

PLEASE can anyone recommend something great thats ideally 19mm or a lot less deep, so I can fit it in my pocket on a night out without it getting in the way and annoying me

I'd say check the Casio range out for size. My Z500 has crap image quality, but it is small.

Consider an IXUS, they are very good, maybe slightly bulky, but the best IQ for the price.

Right iv decided on the Z5fd, its more or less built for what I want......when im out and about, however its battery is a 750mAh one which lasts ~140 shots, iv found a 3rd party battery thats 1230mAh, how many shots will that last?

Coolpix S50? Very, very slim, huge LCD, ISO1600, VR.

Had a look, very nice camera, but twice price of the Z5fd

You're getting it in pink, right?

looked at the F20 from Fuji - smaller full auto brother to the F30/f1fd

Looks a little more rounded / slimmer too.

can also be had for £94

isn't the G7 rawless> or has someone already mentioned that

I loved my konica sub compact kd420z or minolta G400 (same camera)
it had some manual controls on it
max and min shutter and Tv controls in manual mode
they don't make cub compacts like that anymore
