well currently have an octavia 1.9 TDi for taxi hack purposes, she's getting on a bit and looking at possible replacements.

shortlist so far is


octavia
Superb
Passat
Mondy
Vectra


anyone care to comment on any of the above?

the current octavia has been spot on since we got it and has never let us down really. hence the skoda currently being top of the list (albeit with some leather and toys)

looking to buy at around a year-2 years old budget around the 10k mark

must be diesel must be a standard 4 door saloon (or preferably estate) just think TAXI :)

and no i dont want a V6 406 in white with a bodykit and the ability to fly
 
Used a passat TDI with all options at my old work to go on a training course. absolutely awesome car.

And that's it.. Haven't driven the others.
 
Passats another option but we have an A4 already alongside the octavia so we wouldnt be adverse to another Vag toy :)
 
Im going to say the mondy, but then I would. :p

That said I think the octavia is excellent value and you will be able to pick up a decent one, and well....you dont need me to tell you about them.

Would definatley be one of those 2 for me though.
 
For that kind of cash, ill get myself a Volvo s60/80 LPG Bifuel. Have you considered using an alternate fuel source, like gas?
