Looking to get a second lens for my D50 I have a Nikkor 50mm Prime and now I am looking for telephoto, and was wondering what one you guys would go for out of :

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG £179.99

Nikon 70-300mm f4/5.6 AF £289.99

Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD Macro £199.99

loooking at price I am guessing the nikkon should be the best out of all ?? but I know this isnt always the case.

The nikkor one is a D lens, you will see if you read some areas of the camera manual that even nikon reccomend D or G lenses to get the most out of the features of those cpu lenses on dslr bodies for more natural tones and more vivid contrast etc among other things so yes in this respect the nikkor lens has better "suit" for your body but the others have macro so take into account if ythe macro is good quality and if you will use it!

I was going to go with the sigma but I am a bit concerned with sigma's QC, I know you can get a good one but a lot of bad ones seem to come out as well. Do you think Nikon and tamron have better QC ?

I think I am heading towards the Nikkor at the minute

Sigma on it is way as I speak :D should have it in about 1 hours time, only store that had one in stock was near my Dads house so he is picking it up for me a dropping off.

Will be all set for duxford "Flying legends" on the 8th now :)

Will post exaples as soon as

Well I have to say I am really impressed with this lens it is superb, really nice build quality I thought as well :) really gald I went for this and cant wait until I get to use it a Duxford.

will post some pics when I have had time to sort them out..I have had a quick look and they are all sharp from 70 to 300.
