what the best cpu to buy

hey guys i am going to upgrade my amd 3000+ but i dont no what cpu to get any one have any suggestions

i am wonting to play games and i do a lot of video converting as well also i do no how to overclock but not much thoe i am willing to pay for a fx60 if need be

specs of my systerm

512 x 2 geil running in dual channle case latency 2.5.3.3.6
air cooling with one 25cm one 14cm and two 80mm also one on psu
hyper type r 580w psu

You willing and have the money to buy an FX60 :eek:

In that case ditch the chip mobo and ram and get

Conroe E6700
Gskill Hz DDR2 2 gig Kit
Asus P5W DH mobo

And enjoy a faster system
 
Currently I would say the best value chip to buy would be the X2 3800+ avaiable at a smidge over the £100 mark.

The best price v performance would be something like the E6600 conroe or the E6400 Allendale (core 2 duo's).
