What the deuce!? PS3 display issue

PS3 hooked up to a Dell 2407 via a HDMI -> DVI cable.

My monitor just enters power save mode when I select HDMI on the PS3 :confused:

I've reset the display settings by holding down the power button, I've tried two other HDMI cables with a DVI adapter and still the same thing.

I carted the PS3 across the road to my sister-in-law's and plugged in into her spangly new 1080P TV via HDMi and it worked fine.

Help!

Edit: Component works fine but looks like turd, that's not an option, I need to get this working over DVI else I'll cry.

Is the 2407 HDCP compatible?

Yessir, like I said, it worked on my A03 which is an older revision.

Have you tried different HD resolutions?
And make sure you hold the power button down for around 10 seconds.

Not likely! I'll have no one to play with

It would appear there's something wrong with my screen, going to have to call Dell on Monday and get it swapped under warranty.

Damn thats a shame, but they are good for returns. I reckon the p3 killed it

Of course it will be worth it, the best multiplayer game there is on the 360. Have a read up on the r6 thread I posted some preview stuff.

It will be Xbox360's goty

I watched the developers diary and it looks very good, especially multiplayer wise. Everything they showed was Xbox360 though.

O, i'll be getting it on 360 alright :cool:

MP games are what the 360 is for!

IMO Rainbow 6 has gone downhill since the Black Arrow days, maybe im wrong though. Never got into Vega MP, was more into Ghost recon. Just hope there isnt a massive downhill leap in graphics on MP on this one.

It turns out it is my screen that's the problem, have just tried my PS3 on a 2407 at work and it works fine.

I'll be calling Dell in the morning!

The first one is still the best one to this day, then the expansion pack for it. I'd say Vegas is the 3rd best, though I've not played a whole lot of it on my gamertag.
