Since i built this computer up back in march or something ive been having to use the top sound ports since the back ones arent working.

Is there some jumper ive moved that i shouldnt have to enable/disable the read sound panel?

Not really that important but i want to be able to keep my sound plugged in the back and not have to take it out to put headphones in etc etc.

Dfi sli-d with the plug in sound thing on the back ;)

(actually i'll probably post back in a second with it working :o )

nope cant get it,will it be the way my mate bodged an old soundcard into my old system.Cut two jumpers in half and put them on the pins i hooked up the external ports to?

i seem to remember on some boards you can either have the front or back ports working but not both. on my neo 2 thats the case anyhow. maybe something similar on that one.

The DFi NF4 boards have an onboard AC97 sound chip, and the mini add on card, which is the Karajan auidio module.

There's a jumper near the top left corner of the board that needs to be set to which ever sound chip you wish to use. You also need to make sure that you use the correct drivers for the chip as well.
