In work sat in front of PC. I'm always signed in to my personal google account to hop into my Gmail account occasionally.

I have our IT guy remote access my work PC to fix something, I'm watching him open chrome to get down malware bytes, he types first letter 'm' and a few very NSFW suggestions pop up based on my search history. Embarrassing to say the least.

But I nevery use work PC for NSFW anything. Those searches were made on my personal PC at home

Has something changed with history/searches now following google accounts across devices? Never seen that before, total horror show

Our IT people are third party company, i'll never meet the guy so it's not too bad. Shudder to think what i'd have done if that happened with someone stood beside me though

Don't know how i've never seen this happen before if this has been the way for ages, i'm never incognito at home

TBH i don't remember ever requesting that sort of cross device syncing, i'd assume it's an opt in facility. Certainly no mention of seach history tracking. Lesson learnt, i'll be signing out permanently tomorrow am

Is it not possible to just log into Gmail without signing in to your overall google account? In simpler times a search engine was an entirely seperate thing to an email account
