I have a Q6600 in a IP35 Pro mobo with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, in the past my temps have always been in the ranges of 22/28 when idol, but now for some strange reason it is showing 48/53 when idol.

My pc has recently had a virus but I managed to remove it with AVG. I am not sure though if the temps where high b4 the virus, I have only just noticed these high temps since I have reinstalled Abit ugru utility.

My system is not overclcked in any way, it is set to optimised defaults in the bios the my cpu is running at 2.40ghz

i was also thinking it might be the cpu cooler, its about 3years old now, i want to stick with air but not sure which cooler to get, was looking at the zalman ones!:confused::confused:

any ideas folks?
cheers

hi magic1an, thanks for replying.
yeah, i was thinking of getting a new cpu cooler but one that is easier to install than that bloody Freezer pro. i dont even mind if i have to remove my mobo to fit the fan.

what is the best for quad cores?

cheers

Just an update..my temps are now fine again!:):):)

The problem was a buggy bios. I do recall updating my bios around the time of the temps increase, buggy version was: Bios Issue Date:2008/03/18

I have now updated to Bios Date:2008/05/26 and my temps are now fine.
Abit mention this temps fix in the update fixes description.

Oh well, just thought I would let you IP35 Pro users know just in case you have the same problem I did.

Cheers
