what the hell is a poo stick?

I'm 32 and have read a bit of Winnie.

However I was thinking along the lines of something to probe dogs muck with and then stick under a friends nose. Glad you put this right as I can lose that mental picture now everytime the ad comes on.

I'm 27 and I've never heard of pooh sticks. What's more, I fail to see how anyone could be vexed that some of us are oblivious to a childish game.

I live in a very small town and probably spent more of my childhood outdoors than most, so this has nothing to do with kids not spending enough time outside.

edit: why the hell am I taking this so seriously?

ok it's from Winnie the Pooh.

The characters used to stand on one side of a bridge over a river and drop a twig each into the water then race to the other side of the bridge to see which one came through first. The one that did was the winnah.

And that's Pooh Sticks! :D

I used to play pooh sticks with my grandparents :)

I had the books read to me as a kid (or maybe I sat with my parents and we read them together).
I'm not going to pretend it isn't "old" but I just though Pooh Sticks was one of those things that was passed on through generations.
Where although the origins are old, somehow most kids were still taught about them.

I'm 23 and spent most of my childhood outside playing aswell thanks :)

Still never heard of it personally, suppose that means I had a **** up-bringing  :p

The park where I take my kids has a bridge and a little river.
They always want to play Pooh sticks, the trouble is that the sticks get stuck in the weeds!
They're 3 & 5 years old and I'm 30 years young. :D
