After perfecting my rig specs i decided to just check everything over as i have a few quid extra to spend and see whether there was anything i could upgrade for the extra.

Ive picked a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 as im abit of a sound freak and cant stand onboard however good it maybe hyped to...but looking at higher priced models i found the "Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional 7.1" and the extra £30 it costs!

Is this another "Lets pay for the word:Fatal1ty on our components" thing or does it actually provide anymore for that £30 difference?

Thanks guys!

Yeah the Fatalty Extreme gamer is basically the Fatal1ty Professional without the front I/O Panel... it has 64MB of RAM for computing high quality audio samples... while the Standard Xtreme Gamer doesnt

surely the dsp chips do the proccessing?

if your an audiophile how about getting some pro audio hardware? check out creatives pro audio dept. emu.

By sound freak i mean i value sound quality just as much as visual quality. Im by no means a Audiophile, i lack the knowledge in that department.

So would i actually hear the difference? Im not too bothered about the front panel as i wont be hooking much up other than my Z-5500's. But with those speakers i can really hear the difference in say a 92kbs MP3 to a 128kbs MP3.

Yeah the Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty will definitely make a difference with your Z5500.. i have the same setup, but i have the X-fi Fatal1ty Professional with Z-5500s
