So, I just got my brand new Rampage IV Formula (from a different retailer, wish I hadn't now).

So I was just taking a lot at the board, when this caught my eye near the right memory slot. It looks like a scratch on the lane or something.
Can anyone make out what it is http://i.imgur.com/TQNYmK5.jpg

Is it now dead.. what are the chances?

I know for a fact I never caused this, before anyone starts. Unfortunately I can't test it until tomorrow, when my chip from Overclockers arrives :(

it wont be dead but might cause memory issues, lookslike its right on a copper trace going to the memory slot

it might be fine,as for what it is idk, corrosion? or a scratch? I wouldn't touch it tho

Doesn't look like a scratch (to me at least). Hopefully it won't cause any problems but as wazza said, don't touch it.

Not sure if it would be worth contacting the retailer about it without knowing if it is causing problems though (but I think I would want to).

Yeah, don't worry. I haven't touched it, don't intend to either! I've already informed the retailer of my discovery, but noted that I would be testing it tomorrow (still yet to get a reply from them).

see what they say first,if they kick up a fuss but the board works fine then id leave it at that, but if they offer to replace it then I would

you can always seal it with some clear nail varnish

On the first picture in the OP there looks to me there are marks around that hole maybe from a screw. Was the box sealed? if not I would send it back. Also what is that looking residue blobs?
