What the hell just happened to my Wii??

happened to mine when I first got it but not since ?? Anyway left it powered off with power removed from abck for a few mins and then it reset.

im fully aware of that, not that the wifi module runs hot enough to over heat the console when its switched off...

what im asking, is what difference does that make if the fan is on when the consoles powered up?
