What the hell just happened?

I always leave my pc on overnight but when i got up this morning everything is back to how it would be after a fresh windows install, All my customised settings have gone and everything. It seems like there has been a system restore back to the first day i installed windows the hills in the background/no numlock/no quicklaunch etc, when i ran firefox it ran the first run page, what the hell has happened?

*edit* looking in system restore the only thing i can see is something called software distribution service 3.0 ran at 00:20 this morning

sounds likt the pc has rebooted during the night and was unable to load your local profile for some reason.

This would give you a clean local profile. try re-booting a couple of times, my restore your profile.

Ah got it, it was logged on as admin for some reason, any ideas why it is doing this?

If it reboots i have to click log off then log on as my name

autologon is set to on

start
run
control userpasswords2

the rest is simple

Yeah that is the problem, thanks, is there no way i can set autologon for my account though?

TweakUI has an 'Auto-Login' feature, that you can customise to your login (username and password)

in that screen i sent you to, untick autologin (or whatever the box is called), click ok

go in again, and tick/untick it, and it'll ask you for username & pass that you want to login with
