Just had a weird situation where my CPU usage was getting molested at.
I tried to follow this guide:

Couldn't get it to work and the next think I know core temp is going ballistic. CPU cores are peaking at 98% runnin as low as 60%ish
Ram was only using 30% I think but runs around 20 to 25% percant normally, which is also higher the past couple of days.

Panicked, uninstalled software, didn't work. Tried to roll back the system, didn't work for some strange reason even after a safe mode start up (now back to where I was 15mins ago but with no craziness) and now ram is still running high, but possibley normal and the CPU does have the odd second peak of around 20% to 30%

Any idea what happened? It was like the machine was possesed?

I also saw a few days a go some-one recommending a programme that lists all running processes, services, or something. It was like task manager in application but gave more details and showed stuff task manager didn't. Any idea?
Just I think ram usage is rather high and has increased again in the past couple of days so wondering if you guys could have a look at what's happening.
Currently got chrome open with two tabs and ram using 25% (+/- 1%). Two cores seem to be showing at once, alternating between them at round 3% (+/-1%) with the odd moment of one core around 5%.

Specs are in the sig.

Thanks for any help.

process explorer might be able to help.

i've had a similar issue on my main pc and my server recently; i downloaded a track from soundcloud, the file was seemingly corrupt (it played fine) as i couldn't move it or delete it, only copy it. i copied it from my pc to my server, then when i tried to delete the original file cpu usage went between 60-100% on all cores. it showed either explorer.exe or dllhost (think it was that) going mental, so i decided to kill both processes and restarted them for everything to calm down. in the end, i had to use malwarebytes file killer tool to get rid of the file, haven't had the problem since.
