What thumbnail preview picture viewer? Preview thumbnails take ages on Vista

Looking through my photos takes ages on Vista, as it takes an age to load up the preview thumbnails.

any solution or alternative?
 
when i get home i'll try registering the xp shimgvw.dll in vista instead of the vista one

that's the dll used for picture & fax viewer

it might mess up desktop icon transparency, but i'm hoping it doens't (if it works at all that is!)
