But seeing as this is the expected "norm", I'd say that I get into work probably 20 minutes before that just to get myself ready for the day. Allows me to spend more time resolving Asia based problems before the day to day.
My hours are meant to be 9-5.30. I used to get the train so because of the schedule I was allowed to arrive at 9.20 and leave at 5.20 with a half hour lunch. I no longer get the train but the schedule has stayed pretty much the same.
I only work in the office 3 days a week, the other 2 are from home so on those days I tend to start work about 8.30 as I get up and ready the same time as normal then I work till 5.30, sometimes 6.
5-10 mins before i am contracted to start usually. That is normally to take into account variations in traffic to avoid being late if there are any unusual hold up.
I'm contracted to do 8 hours a day. I arrange my day around meetings and other working activities which could occur at any time, if for example I'm tasked to execute a change outside of core business hours. As of Q3 last year I've stepped away from doing operational tasks and am now focused almost exclusively on development work.
I work from home and only very occasionally go into the office. From home I try to be available from 0700 UK Local. At the office between 0800 and 1000 UK Local.
I start at 7pm and I'll pretty much never turn up before 6:45pm, on the odd occasion I find myself getting to work early I make a detour for the nearest supermarket and probably end up being a bit late.
I work near Manchester airport and live near Oldham so my commute can be a lot longer than 20 or so minutes possible on a clear run so I leave early in the morning and finish at the dot.
Have my breakfast and tea at work as every minute counts leaving in the morning.
On days I'm in the office I do 830 - 1700 and normally leave at 645 to get in for a bit later than 7:30. If I'm still tired I'll sleep in my car - very rare, normally caused by illness.
If I left at 7 I might not get in until 830 if there's been an accident.
Usually min 50 mins getting home and can be 90 mins.
Fortunately I'm not supposed to be in the office very often and can work from home in the morning before meetings and again if it's pointless going back to the office.
I used to get up at 6.15 and get to work at 7.30 then sit around on here with a brew. I would be doing that at home anyway tbh, and getting in early means I avoid the traffic. I then ended up working from 7.30. Considering I work late too I decided that I wouldn't do the free overtime thing anymore and just arrive on time now.
Meant to be in by around 09:30, tend to show up any time between 09:20 and 09:40. I also leave half an hour before I am contracted to on an incredibly regular basis.
Not that it matters, I get judged on what I get done, not how long my seat has been warmed.
