Well just as Fermi draws near and I start thinking of buying a new Graphics card my 8800GTx breathes its last breath tonight.
Shut it down after playing BF BC2. Turned back on as id forgotten to print something and it never came back. Just post beeps 1 long beep and 2 short beeps. Meaning a gfx error. Reseated it, cleared cmos, checked connections and still no go.
Luckily its a bfg card with lifetime warranty so hopefully it should be changed without a fuss. So im now running on a 8800GT which I had in another rig YAY
For those who are interested heres a video of the fault:

It stops on the No floppy found which is code "7f".
Raises the question do I use this as an excuse and go and buy a new GFX card (5870 or 5970)?
