Wondering if you can help, i recently bought 2x512meg sticks of pc5300 its Corsair value ddr2 ram, what i want to know is what would i be best running it in its running on a P4 3.4@ 3.5 800fsb, heres the timings it can do x2 obvlously.

333 MHz 5.0-5-5-15 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
266 MHz 4.0-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
200 MHz 3.0-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

Don't know if am better off running it in 667mhz/533/400 which will give best results.

I have very little experience with Intel and DDR2 but I think that for a Intel system bandwith (speed) gives a better reult than tighter timings.

But if you really want to know set it to 333Mhz and run a benchmark and then change to 266Mhz and do it again.

Totally agree with Dutch Guy on this. I had this similar conundrum when I built my sister's P4 Prescott. I ended up using 266mhz 4-4-4-12. I think 5-5-5-15 is too loose but I may be wrong. Try it out and see.

Well i done a memory benchmark in sis sandra and i get higher score running it in ddr667 with the higher timings.

SiSoft Sandra is known for not caring too much about timings, only speed differences.

If you can you need to test games or other benchmarks to get the full picture like 3DMark2001 and Everest

Use SuperPi - this will give you an idea - make sure it is the millisecond mod one - mod 1.4 or something.

Done some testing on bf2 deffo loads in faster when its on 667 compared too the other ones not really to sure of fps difference.
