What to do about RM750i....

Anybody who replied to my thread over in Graphics cards, will know I have had some issues with my new build.
Namely black screen restarts seemingly randomly, at desktop, while browsing and under load.
Long story short it seems to have been my Corsair RM750i failing.
I swapped over to an 11 year old Corsair HX750 I had spare. No issues, ran perfectly.

I RMA'ed the RM750i, and it was confirmed faulty. Brand new unit sealed in box arrived yesterday.

I got it hooked up, and straight away noticed a high pitched squeal/whine. Its faint, but noticeable.
Present whenever the system is even under slight load. (Opening web page, watching video etc) But goes away at idle.

And boy... when I start gaming, coil whine is INSANE. My RTX3080 FE whines, has done since new. But it got better. On the RM750i before it went bad, it was ok. Likewise on the HX750. Far more whine than id like (which is none, but hey!) but "acceptable" in most games.

Now with this new RM750i, it whines terribly under load. Probably as bad as it ever did. To the point where the whine is louder than the fans. Can hear it even using headphones.

To make matters worse that evening while playing Titanfall 2 for about 45m, I got a system freeze. Not a black screen reboot as before, but system froze and I needed to press the reset button.
So far its just once... and I have played a few games and ran benchmarks etc.

I have already contacted Corsair about this... will see what they can do.

But this leaves me deflated. I have never had issues with Corsair products and really like the RM750i's reporting features. Nice seeing PSU temp / load / fan RPM etc alongside all my other sensors.

However its souring my new PC experiance... dont trust the system.

Ill see what Corsair offer... but I am at a point where Id consider just buying another PSU and being done with it.

I see the HX850i is currently in stock for £195, which Id consider. But then Im not sure I want to send more money Corsairs way right now. Plus it seems the HX line is discontinued. Most other retailers dont carry it, and its not listed on Corsairs own site anymore. (Neither is RM750i...)

This leads me to other brands. I hear good things about Seasonic & Be Quiet. Seems the new Dark Power Pro 12 is OOS everywhere.

Another left field options would be a Fractal Design Ion+ 860P. They seem cheap for whats on offer, are platinum rated and carry a 10 year warranty. If the build is anything like the Define 7 Case I have, id be very happy.

So... if your with me till this point... what would you do?
Duke it out with support, hope to get a working-not-whining RM750i?

Suck it up and buy something else? (And then still see about the RM750i and maybe sell the replacement?)

Appreciate comments.

Just want this PC stable, whine free and quiet.

That can be quite tricky sometimes. The obvious thing to do is throw money at the problem. Buying more expensive PC parts reduces the odds of getting any coil whine, but buying a Nvidia FE card will be a lottery.

Haha tell me about it!

And the FE was not my first choice 3080... I knew it would probably whine and even if it didn't, the fans would be loud.

But hey, in these times... you grab what you can get :|
