What to do after upgrade?

Ive just upgraded from a P4 3ghz which i was overclocking and using a ThermalRight SI-120 to cool with a 120mm Fan.

Ive recently upgraded to a Opteron 146 and im overclocking it to 2.6ghz but im using the retail fan as ive miss placed the socket adaptor to use the ThermalRight SI-120 on a 939 board.

I need to buy some form of cooler today, do i re-buy a ThermalRight SI-120 just for the socket adaptor and then resell the ThermalRight SI-120 without it?

Or shall i just buy another heatsink and sell my current ThermalRight SI-120?

If i should buy another heatsink, then which?!

Stick with the SI-120. I have one and it keeps my cpu down to 31 idle/42 100% load. Have you tried contacting Thermalright to see if they will send you a replacement adapter. They are only $3. See their website for accessories here .

Arrr never saw that, i did contact them but they never got back to me.

I cant see whats differnt about there K8 adaptor to the standard AMD ones, ill give them another try cos i would prefer to keep my SL-120
