What to do and expect

Now then.

Like many I've been waiting since October for a MSi 3080 and still over 400 in the queue. My 1080 finally died over Xmas so had to buy a 1650 to tide me over. The stick situation showed no sign of improving and saw a giga 3070 available last night and ordered it.

What should I expect Vs the 1080 and also what do you think I should do about the 3080. Cancel the order or sell the 3070 when it finally arrives??

Take a look at reviews. Hardware unboxed did a round up of about 14 games, on average 3070 is 17% slower at 1440p and gap opens at 4k with 3070 slower by about 26% around 14min mark.

If your at 1440p, I suspect your fine with the gap. If your at 4k, then may make more sense. Above is also only 14 games so will vary depending on title.

Even the 3070 would be a considerable upgrade over your 1080. If you want high frame rates and high/ultra settings in 4K, the 3080 would serve you better.
